this is it

Hey everyone,
The parking lots and stands are full of proud parents carrying flowers and stuffed animals.  People who don't normally wear socks are wearing ties.  The opening strains of "Pomp & Circumstance" are wafting up from the field.  This is the last official post to the 2011-2012 course blog.

It's hard to express-- especially for a wordy guy who's been talking your ears off all year-- how proud I am of you.  Thank you for all your contributions.  I wish each and every single one of you great success and I look forward to seeing you on in the alumni forum (you'll receive an invitation at the email address you listed on the course evaluation).

  1. Wow... I actually half expected to see a new assignment posted here that I had neglected until the last minute lol! Old habits die hard I guess :P.

Thank you, Dr. Preston for everything this past year. (And sophomore year too!) There were times when this class made me want to rip my hair out, but those rare moments were greatly surpassed by the number of times I realized how lucky I was to be in class full of people who wanted to learn as much as I did (and still do). Being in your class made me realize how much a teacher can care about his student's success and how often he's willing to bend over backwards to ensure their wants and needs are met. Thank you Dr. Preston for always going the extra mile for us and giving us a good kick in the a** whenever we needed it. Thank you for making you're room feel more like a welcoming home than a classroom, and thank you for making everyone feel more like family instead of just classmates. You and your class will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
